Support the work

Tinker North is free. Forever.

No ads, no paywalls. If an article saved you time or a project came in handy, a donation covers hosting, the domain, and the time that goes into keeping the archive, demos, and open-source code online.

Support on GitHub Sponsors

GitHub Sponsors

Recommended

Monthly sponsorship through GitHub. It has the lowest fees, GitHub takes no cut, and it's the steadiest way to chip in month after month. It's also the only option GitHub matches dollar for dollar through the Sponsors Matching Fund, where eligible.

Donation FAQ

Where does the money go?

Hosting and the tinkernorth.com domain, keeping the blog archive and the playable demos online, and the hours that go into maintaining the open-source projects and writing new articles. That's the whole list. No team, no overhead.

Is Tinker North a registered nonprofit?

No, it's a personal project rather than a registered nonprofit, so donations aren't tax-deductible. They're just a thank-you that keeps the work going.

Which option should I pick?

Go with GitHub Sponsors if you can spare a recurring amount. It has the lowest fees and gets matched dollar for dollar where eligible. Ko-fi is great for a quick one-time tip with no account. Buy Me a Coffee is the easy pick if you'd rather not use GitHub.

Do I get anything in return?

Mostly my thanks, plus knowing the articles, code, and demos stay free and online. If you want the credit, GitHub Sponsors shows your support publicly on the TinkerNorth org.

Can't donate right now?

That's completely fine. Starring the projects on GitHub, sharing an article, or filing a solid bug report helps just as much.

Can't donate? You can still help

Thank you. It really does keep this going.
